You control Popeye across a series of levels, each with its own theme and obstacles, trying to rescue Olive Oyl from Bluto.
You move Popeye left and right, punching enemies, jumping over gaps, and climbing ropes or ladders. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage while collecting items like hearts and letters that spell "HELP". Eating a can of spinach gives you temporary invincibility and lets you destroy certain barriers with one punch. The game moves at a steady pace, but some jumps require precise timing, and enemies respawn quickly. It feels straightforward and a bit repetitive, but the responsive controls make it easy to pick up and play for a few minutes.
