Game Overview
Power Drive_Disk1 is one of those Amiga racers where you spend half the time sideways. The handling’s loose enough that you can throw the car into ridiculous drifts, especially with a well-timed handbrake pull—just don’t expect precision.
You’ve got three ways to race: solo time trials, head-to-head against the AI (which gets weirdly aggressive on tight corners), and these odd little skill challenges that feel like an afterthought. The real fun’s in the eight rally stages, from icy Swedish tracks to Kenya’s dusty roads. Win races, grab prize money, then immediately blow it all repairing your battered car. Classic cycle.
It’s janky in that late-’80s way, but the slides make up for it.
