Power Quest is this weird little Game Boy gem that mashes up RPG grinding with robot fights. You're basically a kid who just got out of school and immediately dives into the local battle bot scene. At first, your robot feels like it's made of cardboard and dreams, but you slowly upgrade it by beating up other bots in back alleys for cash.
The town's got this nice loop where you wander around challenging random fighters, then blow all your winnings on shiny new arms or boosters. Tournaments actually feel tense because you never quite know if your upgrades were enough. And when you just want to throw down without the RPG stuff, there's a straight-up arcade mode with six different bots to pick from.
Best part? That infrared VS mode actually works if you've got a friend with a copy. Nothing like watching your custom bot get wrecked by your buddy's weird laser-leg build.
