Premiere Disk1 came out on the Amiga in 1992 from Core Design Ltd. and Corkers. It was part of that wave of platformers where developers were trying out new ideas, moving beyond simple run and jump mechanics to incorporate more varied objectives and level themes.

You control a character tasked with recovering six stolen film reels, each located in a different movie genre-themed stage. The gameplay involves navigating screen by screen, using a variety of weapons like a bow to defeat enemies that match the level's theme, such as cowboys in a western setting or monsters in a horror stage. Finding hidden rooms is essential for collecting extra items and power-ups, and between the main levels, you play short mini-games that break up the action. The pacing is deliberate, with a moderate difficulty that requires careful exploration rather than speed.
