Game Overview

Puyo Puyo Fever came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It was part of that era where puzzle games really thrived on handhelds, offering quick bursts of play that fit perfectly between classes or on the bus. The Caravan mode in particular was a nice addition, giving you a fixed time limit to rack up as many points as possible without the pressure of an opponent.

You control falling pairs of colored blobs called Puyos, rotating and placing them to create groups of four or more of the same color. The main goal is to set up chain reactions that clear multiple groups at once, sending nuisance Puyos over to your opponent's side. Two key mechanics define the experience: Fever Mode, which gives you pre-set boards to trigger massive combos, and the constant threat of garbage Puyos clogging your screen if you fall behind. The pacing is relentless; one mistake can bury you fast. It feels like a race against your own ability to plan ahead under pressure.
