Play Puzznic on GB Online
Slide blocks to match colors across 128 levels—starts easy, then suddenly you're stuck staring at the screen trying to crack that one stubborn puzzle. The Game Boy's stiff controls somehow make each solved level feel earned.

Puzznic came out for the Game Boy in 1990, published by Taito. It was one of those many puzzle games that filled the platform's library, offering a quiet, thoughtful alternative to the action titles of the time.
You don't control a character, but directly manipulate colored blocks on a grid. The goal is to clear each screen by sliding blocks so that matching colors touch and vanish. The main mechanics involve pushing blocks one space at a time; they slide until they hit a wall or another block, and you can't pull them, only push. The game starts simply but the puzzles quickly demand serious foresight, often requiring you to plan several moves ahead to avoid trapping yourself. Solving a difficult stage after a long struggle provides a genuine sense of relief.
