Play Quarth (Japan) Online
Blocks drop, you shoot gaps to complete rectangles—simple until the grid fills up and your brain short-circuits. Tetris with lasers and panic.

Konami released Quarth for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, a time when puzzle games were becoming a staple of the console. It didn't get the same attention as some other titles, but it offered a distinct, methodical challenge that felt different from the falling-block games that dominated the era.
You control a small ship at the bottom of the screen, firing blocks upward into a descending grid of shapes. Your goal is to form complete rectangles by shooting your blocks into the open gaps of the incoming pattern. Each completed rectangle vanishes, clearing space and buying you time. The challenge comes from the relentless pace; the grid constantly pushes downward, and a single miscalculation can quickly lead to a game over. It feels like a tense race against a collapsing structure, demanding both quick reflexes and careful spatial planning.
