Play R.C. Pro-Am II Online
Race your RC car, dodge obstacles, collect power-ups, and blast opponents while upgrading your ride to conquer wild tracks in R.C. Pro-Am II for NES.
R.C. Pro-Am II came out for the NES in 1992, developed by Rare. It arrived late in the console's life, a time when many developers were already moving on to 16-bit systems, but it showed there was still some clever design left in the old hardware. This was a direct follow-up to the original top-down racer, sticking to its core premise but expanding the scope considerably.
You control a small radio-controlled car, racing against three CPU opponents across a series of increasingly wild tracks. Your main goal is simply to finish in the top three to advance to the next course. The signature mechanics involve collecting power-ups, like missiles and bombs to attack rivals or shields for protection, and earning money to purchase permanent upgrades for your car's tires, engine, and acceleration between races. The pacing is fast and the difficulty is unrelenting, with tight corners and aggressive opponents that constantly try to shove you into obstacles. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble to manage your position while grabbing every advantage you can.
