Play Race Drivin' Online
Three tracks, a ticking clock, and that janky early-3D physics—you’ll wrestle the wheel to shave seconds off your lap while the Game Boy’s polygons barely hold together.

Race Drivin' came out for the Game Boy in 1992, a portable version of the arcade cabinet by Atari Games. It was one of the few attempts to bring a polygonal 3D driving experience to the handheld, a time when most racing games on the system were simple top-down or side-scrolling affairs.
You control a low-polygon car from a first-person perspective, steering through a series of twisting tracks against the clock. The main goal is simple: complete each lap and then the full race without running out of time. The signature mechanics are the gear shifting, which you manage manually for better acceleration, and a force feedback steering system simulated through the game's physics that makes the car feel heavy and unwieldy. It's a slow, deliberate game where a single mistake can ruin a run, demanding perfect memorization of every turn. The whole experience feels like fighting the hardware itself to eke out a clean lap.
