Rampage: Puzzle Attack came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Midway. It was part of that early GBA wave where familiar arcade properties got portable puzzle spin-offs, a trend that felt both practical and a little experimental at the time.
You control one of three giant monsters from the Rampage series, but instead of directly smashing cities, you clear screens of colored blocks by making matches. The main objective is to survive against an opponent, either the CPU or another player, by sending garbage blocks their way through successful combos. Signature mechanics include building up a special meter to unleash your monster's city-destroying rampage in the background, which also disrupts your rival's screen. The pacing is frantic, with matches escalating quickly into a tense back-and-forth struggle. It feels like a race to see who can trigger chaos first.
