Rayman 3 on GBA is one of those platformers that just feels good to play—tight controls, vibrant animations, and that classic Rayman charm. The story kicks off when Globox (accidentally) swallows the Lord of the Dark Lums, turning him into a walking disaster magnet. Now Rayman’s gotta clean up the mess while dodging angry Hoodlums and navigating some seriously creative levels.
You’ll start with basic jumps and punches, but before long you’re unlocking wild abilities like the Heavy Metal Fist (exactly as cool as it sounds) and Shock Rockets. Some areas tease you with collectibles just out of reach until you backtrack with new powers—annoying at first, but satisfying later when you finally grab that last cage.
Between the side-scrolling chaos, there are these weirdly fun 3D minigames—jet skiing feels janky in the best way, and the kart racing’s a nice break. Oh, and if you’ve got a GameCube link cable, there’s extra content to unlock, though good luck finding someone who still has that setup.
It’s not the deepest platformer, but the movement’s so smooth you won’t care. Just watch out for those underwater sections—they’re slower, but the music makes up for it.
