Red Baron on the Amiga is one of those games that makes you feel like you're actually flying a rickety WWI biplane—complete with the wind in your face and the constant fear of getting shot down. You start off as some rookie pilot, picking from a bunch of real planes (28 of them, actually) that all handle differently—some turn on a dime, others feel like flying a brick.
The missions are where it gets fun. You might be sent to pop observation balloons (way harder than it sounds), hunt a zeppelin, or just survive a dogfight against some AI ace who’s way too good at this. And yeah, if you don’t crash and burn, you’ll eventually get to face the Red Baron himself. Good luck with that.
It’s all in early 3D, so don’t expect modern graphics—but somehow, the janky polygons just add to the charm. You’ll either love it or bail after the third time your plane nosedives into a field.
