Play Ring Rage Online
Choose a grappler and battle through a tournament, using punches, kicks, and grapples to pin opponents or drain their health in this 1998 Game Boy wrestling game.
I picked up Ring Rage for the Game Boy back in 1998, a time when portable wrestling games were a rare breed. It was developed by Natsume, a company known more for its farming sims than its brawlers, which made this title a curious oddity. It fit right into that era of simple, pick-up-and-play cartridges you could finish on a long car ride, nothing more and nothing less.
You choose one of eight pixelated grapplers and fight through a single-elimination tournament, one match at a time. The main goal is straightforward: deplete your opponent's health bar or pin their shoulders to the mat for a three count. The controls are basic, letting you punch, kick, grapple, and execute a special super move when your meter fills. Matches are fast and surprisingly difficult; the AI doesn't pull punches, and one wrong move can cost you the round. It feels like a quick, scrappy fight where every decision matters.
