Game Overview

Rings of Medusa is one of those Amiga games that starts simple and then pulls you into something way bigger. You play as a prince whose kingdom got hijacked by Medusa (yeah, that Medusa), and now you’re stuck scraping together coins to build an army and take her down. At first, it’s all about trading goods between towns or hunting bounties—basically, doing whatever odd jobs pay enough to keep you from starving.

But once you’ve got some cash, things get wild. You recruit soldiers, send them out to track down these five magic rings (because of course there are magic rings), and suddenly you’re managing armies and getting into these weird little arcade battles—sword fights, ship battles, even full-on troop clashes. It’s janky in that classic Amiga way, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about going from broke merchant to warlord in a single playthrough.

Fair warning: the controls take some getting used to, and the pacing is all over the place. But if you stick with it, there’s a weirdly deep strategy game hiding under all the pixelated chaos.
