Game Overview

Rinne Tenshou ADVANCE is one of those GBA games that somehow slipped under the radar, which is a shame because it’s got this perfect mix of flashy swordplay and old-school action-RPG vibes. You start off with a basic slash attack, but within minutes you’re dashing through enemies, chaining combos, and unlocking these weirdly satisfying special moves that make the screen explode with pixels.

The controls just feel right—responsive in that way where you know exactly why you got hit (usually because you got greedy with attacks). And the sprite work? Gorgeous. Everything’s got this chunky, colorful look that screams early 2000s handheld charm. Sure, the story’s mostly there to give you an excuse to slash through hordes of enemies, but honestly, that’s all I needed.

If you’ve got a soft spot for games where you can feel yourself improving with each attempt, this one’s a blast. Just don’t be surprised when "five more minutes" turns into an hour.
