Game Overview
Road Rash 3 on the Genesis is basically what happens when you take the chaotic bike combat of the first two games and crank everything up. The digitized sprites look way better than the old pixel art—your racers actually look like real (if slightly blocky) people now, which was wild to see back in the day.
You’ve got new tracks too, like the Isle of Man course with its stupidly tight turns and Kenya’s long desert stretches where you can just floor it. Germany’s my favorite though—hitting someone with a club mid-speed feels extra satisfying when you’re weaving through those forest roads. Still has that same janky physics where sometimes you wipe out for no reason, but that’s part of the charm.
It’s not perfect, but if you liked the earlier Road Rash games, this one’s a solid upgrade. Just don’t expect the AI to play fair.
