Pick a car and feel its weight shift on tight turns—some grip the road, others slide out if you push too hard. Pit stops matter when mountain tracks shred your tires, and the AI won’t let you pass easy.

Roadster was a 1990 Game Boy release from publisher Tonkin House, arriving during the handheld's early years when racing games were still finding their footing on the small screen. It didn't aim to redefine the genre, but offered a straightforward take on top-down racing that felt at home among other simple, focused titles of the era.
You control a small selection of cars, each with distinct handling; some stick to the asphalt, while others drift noticeably on sharp bends. The main goal is to climb through the ranks across various circuits, managing tire wear that forces strategic pit stops. Rivals are aggressive and will block or bump you, demanding careful positioning to overtake. The difficulty is persistent, with later courses punishing mistakes harshly. It feels tense and deliberate, where every turn requires focus and patience.
