Robodemons came out in 1990 for the NES, published by Color Dreams. It was one of those unlicensed titles that popped up in the later years of the system, trying to carve out a niche with a sci-fi theme when fantasy was still king.
You control a slow, heavy mech, moving screen by screen through abstract, maze-like levels filled with enemy robots. Your main goal is to destroy all the enemies in each area to progress, using a primary blaster and occasional power-ups that change your weapon. The pacing is deliberate, almost plodding, due to the mech's sluggish movement, and the difficulty spikes sharply with enemy numbers and awkward firing angles. It feels like wrestling with a stubborn machine just to survive each encounter.
