Robodemons is one of those weird, unlicensed NES games that makes you wonder how it even exists—in the best way possible. You’re piloting this clunky mech through what feels like a fever dream of neon factories and alien wastelands, blasting rogue robots with weapons that sound like someone recorded a microwave exploding. The controls take a minute to get used to (your mech moves like it’s stuck in molasses at first), but once you’re in the groove, it’s oddly satisfying.
The soundtrack is pure ’80s synth chaos, and the bosses are these ridiculous screen-filling monstrosities that barely fit on the TV. It’s janky, it’s unfair at times, and yeah, the hitboxes are questionable—but that’s part of the charm.
