RoboWarrior came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of that wave of early NES games that tried to blend different genres, offering a mix of overhead exploration and strategic action. You don't see many games like it anymore, but at the time it felt like a solid, if sometimes confusing, addition to the library.

You control a slow, heavily armored robot, navigating maze-like stages one screen at a time. Your main goal is to find a warp zone on each level that leads to the next area, all while managing a limited supply of bombs and a single, rechargeable laser. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical; you push blocks to uncover hidden passages, avoid enemy fire, and conserve your weapons for the screen-clearing bosses. It feels tense and careful, like every move could be your last if you aren't paying attention.
