Game Overview
Rocket Knight Adventures is one of those Genesis games that just oozes personality. You play as Sparkster, this little armored opossum knight with a rocket pack strapped to his back—which is already a 10/10 concept. The pigs invading his kingdom? Yeah, they're not messing around, and suddenly you're jetting through forests, castles, and weird mechanical zones trying to save the princess.
The rocket pack makes everything feel frantic in the best way. One second you're bouncing off walls like a pinball, the next you're doing this weird mid-air charge attack that sends you screaming across the screen. And just when you think it's all sword slashes and boost jumps, bam—you're suddenly piloting a giant robot or dodging bullets in a shooter segment. The bosses are ridiculous (in a good way), especially that one pig who turns into a helicopter. Classic Genesis nonsense.
It's got that perfect mix of tight controls and "wait, what am I even looking at right now?" energy. Still holds up.
