Game Overview

Rockman EXE 4: Tournament Red Sun (or Mega Man Battle Network 4 if you grew up with the English version) is one of those GBA games that just sticks with you. You start off diving straight into this weirdly cool world where kids jack into the internet with their NetNavis—basically digital battle buddies—and fight on a grid that feels like a mix between chess and an action game. The combat’s frantic but tactical, letting you slap together combos from a pile of collectible Battle Chips mid-fight. Mess up your timing, and you’ll eat a flamethrower to the face.

This one’s got a tournament arc thing going on, so every fight feels like it matters. And yeah, it’s got the usual "Red Sun vs. Blue Moon" version split with some exclusive chips and Navis, which is either annoying or awesome depending on how much you like replaying games. Some fans swear this is where the EXE series peaked, others think it’s a little rough around the edges—but either way, the chip-collecting and combo-building hook is stupidly satisfying. If you’ve got a soft spot for GBA deep cuts, this one’s worth dusting off.
