You build a crew of NetNavis, swapping them mid-battle to shred enemies—MegaMan blasts, GyroMan slices, ProtoMan stabs—while juggling dumb real-world errands between grid-based chaos.
Rockman EXE 5: Team of Blues is the one where MegaMan finally gets some backup. Instead of going solo, you're assembling a squad of NetNavis—ProtoMan, GyroMan, and others—to take on Nebula’s goons. The battles are still that same grid-based chaos, but now you can hot-swap Navis mid-fight, which changes everything. One second you're blasting away with MegaMan, the next you're tagging in GyroMan to slice through whatever’s left.
It’s got all the usual Battle Network stuff—secret chips, ridiculous boss fights, that satisfying "ding" when you slot in the perfect combo—but the team mechanic makes fights way more dynamic. Nebula’s up to their usual nonsense, so you’ll be bouncing between the real world and the net, solving dumb kid puzzles one minute and dodging screen-filling attacks the next. If you’ve played the others, this one’s a no-brainer. If not, it’s a solid place to start before the series goes full anime in EXE 6.
Just don’t blame me when you start muttering "Jack in!" under your breath in public.
