Rockman EXE 5: Team of Colonel came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed and published by Capcom. This entry continues the Mega Man Battle Network series, focusing on Lan Hikari and his NetNavi MegaMan as they take on the cybercrime syndicate Nebula.

You control Lan in the real world and MegaMan in the cyber world, moving through grid based areas, engaging in random encounters, and progressing the story by completing missions. The main goal is to stop Nebula's plans, which involves investigating network areas, defeating viruses, and taking on powerful bosses. Two key mechanics are the Custom Battle System, where you build a folder of Battle Chips to use in combat, and the new Liberation Missions, which require strategic movement of allied Navis on a field to capture territories within a turn limit. The pacing is brisk, with a noticeable difficulty spike during boss fights that demands careful chip selection and timing. Swapping between Colonel’s squad mid fight feels awkward at first, then suddenly you’re pulling off wild combos neither team could manage alone. Nebula’s bosses don’t care if you brought the wrong chips, though. It feels tense and tactical, especially when a well timed chip combo turns a near loss into a clean victory.
