Rockman EXE 5: Team of Colonel came out on Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Capcom. It was part of that wave of late GBA titles that really squeezed everything out of the hardware, with detailed sprites and some clever mechanics that built on what earlier games in the series had established.
You control Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, navigating the internet and the real world to stop a cyber-terrorist group. The core of the game is its hybrid structure: you explore environments screen by screen in an overhead view, then jump into tense, real-time battles on a grid. Your main tools are Battle Chips, which you collect and organize into a custom folder to use in combat. The game introduces a team-based system where you command other Navis, each with unique abilities, adding a layer of tactical decision-making to encounters. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike during certain boss fights, demanding quick reflexes and smart chip management. It feels like a constant, engaging puzzle where every move counts.
