Rockstar: Never Trust Rotten Tangerines is one of those games where you start with a ragtag band in a garage, barely able to afford secondhand guitars, and somehow end up managing a global tour—if you don’t bankrupt yourself first. The first time I played, I blew all our early gig money on a fancy amp instead of paying rent, and let’s just say the band didn’t last long.

You juggle everything: writing songs (some turn out surprisingly catchy, others… not so much), booking tiny clubs, and dealing with shady record execs who lowball you at every turn. The difficulty levels actually matter here—easy mode gives you breathing room, but hard feels like the real cutthroat music industry. Watching your bandmates’ skills improve over time is weirdly satisfying, especially when they finally nail that solo you’ve been drilling for weeks.

It’s got that classic Amiga charm—quirky, a little janky, but full of personality. Just don’t trust those tangerines.
