Play Rodland (Europe) Online
Swing a stretchy rod to flip enemies into fruit—it’s weirdly strategic whack-a-mole with that classic Game Boy charm. Later levels sneak up on you despite the cheerful pastels.

Rodland on the Game Boy came out in 1993 from Jaleco, a company that put out a fair number of quirky titles back then. It was a time when portable games often had to rely on simple, clever ideas rather than big spectacle, and this one fit right in with its colorful, almost playful look.
You control one of two elf sisters, Tam or Rit, working through screen by screen stages to rescue your mother. Your main tool is a magical rod that stretches out to hit enemies; once struck, they flip over and can be bonked again to turn into fruit, which you collect. The goal is to clear each area of enemies to open the exit, while also hunting for hidden fairies and items to increase your score. The pace is methodical, almost puzzle like, since you have to plan your swings to avoid getting surrounded, and the difficulty builds steadily without feeling unfair. It feels like a calm, thoughtful action game where every swing matters.
