The main goal is simply to reach the end of each stage, but getting there requires careful timing and a good feel for the game's unique momentum-based movement. Your character builds speed as they roll downhill, and you have to use that speed to launch off ramps and clear gaps, all while avoiding enemies that patrol in set patterns. The difficulty comes from the precision needed; a mistimed bounce sends you straight into a pit or a spike. It feels like a constant, tense negotiation with the game's own slippery rules.
