Play RPG Tsukuru 2 Online
Toss together pixel towns and goofy NPCs in this SNES RPG maker—mess with stats until your hero’s either overpowered or useless, then watch the chaos unfold when your dialogue glitches mid-quest.

RPG Tsukuru 2 came out for the Super Nintendo in 1996, developed and published by ASCII Corporation. It arrived late in the SNES lifecycle, a time when many players were already looking ahead to newer systems, but it offered something different: a toolset, not just a game. Instead of playing through a premade adventure, you got to build your own worlds, characters, and stories from the ground up, which felt pretty ambitious for a console cartridge at the time.
You control a custom hero through environments you designed yourself, moving screen by screen to explore towns, talk to NPCs, and delve into dungeons. The main objective is to create and test a complete, functional RPG, placing enemies, writing dialogue, and scripting events. Signature mechanics include a detailed menu system for assigning character stats, designing turn-based combat encounters, and placing map triggers that control progression. The pacing is entirely up to you; some sessions are spent fine-tuning a single puzzle, while others involve playtesting entire chapters for balance. It feels like having a box of digital LEGO bricks where every piece has a purpose, and seeing a clumsy idea slowly turn into something playable is its own kind of reward.
