Play Rush'n Attack Online
Cold War-era NES action where you stab your way through enemy hordes with a knife (and sometimes a flamethrower). Brutal, chaotic, and weirdly satisfying.

Rush'n Attack came out on the NES in 1985 from Konami. It was part of that wave of early side-scrolling action games where the goal was simple but the execution was anything but. You moved from left to right, screen by screen, through enemy territory with a clear and direct purpose.
You control a lone soldier armed initially only with a combat knife. Your mission is to rescue prisoners of war held behind enemy lines. The core gameplay involves precise stabbing and slashing; timing is everything because enemies rush you from both sides and drop from above. You can occasionally pick up better weapons like a flamethrower, which offers a brief but powerful advantage. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is punishing, demanding quick reflexes and careful positioning. It feels tense and urgent, a constant scramble for survival where every screen cleared is a small victory.
