Play Ryuuko no Ken Online
Dodge between foreground and background mid-fight—those pixel crowds go wild when you land a clean hit. Still mess up the timing sometimes and backflip straight into a fireball.

Game Overview
Ryuuko no Ken (or Fatal Fury if you grew up outside Japan) is one of those Genesis fighters that just oozes early '90s arcade charm. The first time I booted it up, the pixelated crowd animations in the background immediately pulled me in—they actually react when you land a big hit, which was mind-blowing at the time.
What makes it stand out? That two-plane dodging system. You’re not just stuck trading punches—tap the button at the right moment and your fighter hops between foreground and background to avoid attacks. Took me a few matches to stop accidentally backflipping into fireballs, but once it clicks, fights feel way more dynamic than your typical Street Fighter clone.
Terry’s here in all his red cap glory, though his moveset feels simpler compared to later SNK games. The sprites are chunky, the special moves flashy, and the announcer yells "KO!" like he’s personally offended by your opponent. It’s rough around the edges now, but you can see the DNA of what would become King of Fighters hiding in there.
Perfect for when you want that arcade cabinet vibe without the quarters. Just maybe don’t throw your controller after losing to Geese’s cheap AI.
