Okay, so Schelober’s Quest for a Babe is one of those weird, charming Amiga RPGs where you play as Shelober—a guy whose entire mission is to assemble the ultimate burp to attract a mate. Yeah, you read that right. You’re basically dungeon-crawling through Labor-Land, collecting "bucks," "chunks," and keys to unlock new maze sections while fighting off 25+ types of monsters.
Combat’s simple but fun—you can either smack enemies or let out a scream to push them back. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching Shelober’s stats (health, strength) and inventory slowly grow as you dig through messages and search objects. The whole thing’s split into 30 levels, so there’s plenty of maze to get lost in.
It’s janky, it’s bizarre, and honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re into retro RPGs with a sense of humor, this one’s a hidden gem.
