Shelober’s Quest for a Babe is one of those weird, charming Amiga RPGs where the goal is as ridiculous as it sounds—you’re helping a guy named Shelober collect five bizarre ingredients for the world’s most powerful burp. Yeah, really. You’ll wander through a maze-like Labor-Land, managing his health and strength while juggling bucks, chunks, and keys (which, honestly, feel like someone just threw random words at the inventory system).
Combat’s simple but oddly satisfying—you can either smack enemies or let out a scream to push them back. The screen’s split into action, commentary (which I swear gets snarkier the longer you play), and stats, so you always know exactly how badly you’re doing. And with 30 levels and over 25 monster types, there’s plenty of weirdness to stumble through. Just don’t ask me why chunks are currency.
It’s janky, it’s silly, and somehow, it works. If you’ve got a soft spot for old-school oddities, this one’s worth a burp—er, look.
