Play Scooby-Doo 2 : Monsters Unleashed Online

I picked up Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a time when licensed games were a real mixed bag. THQ published it, and it was one of those titles you'd grab hoping it captured the cartoon's charm without being a total slog. It's a side-scroller, which was pretty standard for the platform, and it tries to stick close to the movie's plot about all these old monsters coming back to cause trouble.

You control either Scooby or Shaggy, running through locations like the museum and the streets of Coolsville. The main goal is to solve the mystery by finding clues and defeating the monsters, but mostly you're just trying to survive. You can whack enemies with a comically large mallet or a broom, and you collect Scooby Snacks to keep your courage meter from emptying; if it runs out, you get scared and lose a life. The pacing is brisk, with a fair amount of backtracking to use new items you find, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later levels. It feels a bit clunky at times, but there's a simple, goofy satisfaction in bonking monsters and hunting for secrets.
