Scorpio came out for the Amiga in 1988 from Kingsoft GmbH. It was a vertical shooter in an era when the platform was full of them, but it stood out with its clean visuals and straightforward approach. You didn't get a lot of story or complex mechanics; it was just you, your ship, and a lot of things to shoot.
You pilot a small spacecraft through five levels, each filled with enemy formations and projectiles to avoid. Your main goal is to survive and destroy everything in your path. You collect power-ups that upgrade your main weapon or grant satellite helpers that fire alongside you. Extra lives are earned by reaching certain score thresholds. The default rapid fire is generous, but the game's difficulty can still ramp up quickly depending on the setting you choose. It feels responsive and immediate, a solid arcade experience that rewards quick reflexes and careful positioning.
