Play Scotland Yard Online
You're either Mr. X dodging detectives across London's transport map with sneaky fakeouts, or one of the cops trying to corner him—every move feels like a risky bluff. That tiny Game Boy screen somehow makes the Underground feel massive when you're sweating over subway routes and taxi chases.

Scotland Yard on the Game Boy, released in 1991 by Sculptured Software, is a portable adaptation of the classic board game. It arrived during a time when many strategy and puzzle titles were finding a home on Nintendo's handheld, offering a different kind of challenge from the action platformers that dominated the system.
You control either the elusive Mr. X or a team of detectives hunting him across a simplified map of London. As Mr. X, your goal is to evade capture for a set number of turns using London's transport systems; the detectives work together to deduce your location and trap you. Key mechanics include using limited special moves like the underground or bus, and Mr. X only revealing his true position at specific intervals, which forces both sides to think several steps ahead. The pacing is deliberate, built on anticipation and the consequences of each ticket spent. It feels like a tense game of hide and seek where every decision carries weight.
