Play Sea Battle Online
You hide your ships, take blind shots at the enemy’s grid, and sweat a little when their last torpedo misses your carrier by one square. The AI actually makes decent guesses, so it’s not just dumb luck.
Sea Battle came out for the Game Boy in 1991, published by Nintendo. It was one of those straightforward, portable games that fit right in with the system's early library, offering a simple but engaging take on a familiar concept without a lot of fuss.
You control a fleet of ships, placing them on a grid before taking turns firing shots at the enemy's hidden positions. The main goal is to sink all of their ships before they sink yours. Key mechanics include choosing between a standard shot or a wider spread shot that covers multiple squares, and carefully tracking hits and misses to deduce enemy ship locations. The pacing is methodical, and the AI provides a decent challenge, making you think a few moves ahead. It feels tense and satisfying when you finally land that last critical hit.
