Play Serious Sam Advance Online
They somehow squeezed all the chaotic run-and-gun madness of Serious Sam onto a GBA—blurry explosions, pixelated monsters charging at you, and that same frantic backpedaling while unloading ridiculous weapons. It shouldn’t work, but it does.

Serious Sam Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Croteam and published by Global Star Software. It was a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate big, loud PC shooters onto a tiny screen, and this was one of the more ambitious attempts. You got a pocket-sized version of that particular brand of chaos, which felt like a minor miracle back then.
You control Sam "Serious" Stone, and your job is to blast through waves of enemies across different levels. The main objective is straightforward survival, clearing screen after screen of monsters that pour in from all directions. Signature mechanics include the frantic backpedaling while firing, managing a limited arsenal of weapons like the shotgun and minigun, and collecting keys to progress through the Egyptian-themed ruins. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be punishing, especially with the cramped view. It feels like holding a miniature riot in your hands, a constant, noisy scramble to stay alive.
