Play Shiftrix Amiga Online
Puzzle game where players slide blocks until they hit obstacles. Match same-colored blocks to remove them. Includes bombs for block clearing and turn-based multiplayer. Released in 1991 for Amiga.
Shiftrix came out in 1991 for the Amiga, published by Software 2000. It was one of many puzzle games on the platform, a time when developers were experimenting with new ways to manipulate tiles and blocks on screen. The game didn't try to be a graphical showcase; it focused on a clean, functional presentation that let the mechanics speak for themselves.
You control a cursor to push rows or columns of colored blocks across a grid. The goal is to match three or more blocks of the same color in a row, which makes them vanish. Bombs appear occasionally, and pushing one into a group clears every block it touches. The pace is methodical, demanding careful planning as the screen gradually fills. It feels like untangling a knot, each move either creating space or backing you further into a corner.
