SideShow_Disk1 came out for the Amiga in 1989 from Actionware Corporation. It was a light gun game that tried to bring the carnival into your living room, a concept that felt fresh on a computer known more for its productivity and deeper strategy titles. You plugged in your light gun, turned up the color on the monitor, and hoped your aim was true.

You control a crosshair, moving it around the screen to shoot targets in eight different carnival themed mini games. These include classic shooting galleries where you pop moving ducks and targets, and a dunk tank where you try to hit the lever to drop a clown into the water. The main objective is simply to score as many points as possible in each attraction. The pacing is quick and arcade like, with each game offering a short burst of action, though the difficulty can spike depending on the speed and number of targets. It feels like a straightforward, noisy afternoon at a fair, where success depends entirely on your reflexes and accuracy.
