Sin and Punishment came out on the Nintendo 64 in 2000, developed by Treasure and published by Nintendo. You control Saki or Airan, depending on the stage, moving them through linear levels filled with enemies. Your main goal is to survive wave after wave of attacks while advancing toward the end of each stage. You use a gun for ranged attacks and a blade for close-quarters combat, switching seamlessly between the two. The game constantly shifts perspective, sometimes putting you on rails and other times giving you free movement. It's fast and demanding, with bullets and enemies coming from all directions. Playing it feels like being in control of a frantic action scene.
