Skyfox came out in 1984 for the Amiga, published by Electronic Arts and Ariolasoft UK. It was one of those early titles that tried to push what home computers could do, especially with its detailed cockpit view and sense of speed. At the time, flight sims were often more about realism than action, but Skyfox leaned into arcade energy while keeping some simulation elements.
You pilot a futuristic fighter called the Skyfox, tasked with completing 15 missions across different environments. Your main goal is to destroy enemy targets like tanks, planes, and a massive mothership using lasers, missiles, and rockets. You have to constantly monitor your shields, fuel levels, and radar while flying at high speeds. The pacing is intense; enemies come at you fast, and managing your systems under pressure is key. It feels like a race against your own resources as much as the enemy.
