You play as Ralph, a cartoon dog with one job: keep your sleepwalking owner Lee from waking up (or worse, falling into water). It’s a weird premise, but it works—you’ll be jumping gaps, punching enemies, and even inflating yourself like a balloon to float over obstacles. The levels are big, with smooth parallax scrolling, and between each one, you get these surreal dream sequences where Ralph secretly imagines all the petty revenge he’d love to take on Lee.
There’s a surprising amount of detail here—full-motion video cutscenes, bonus levels, and even an upgraded version for the Amiga 1200 with sharper graphics. The dream bits are my favorite, though. Collecting tokens to unlock Ralph’s passive-aggressive fantasies never gets old.
It’s quirky, charming, and just the right amount of chaotic for an old-school platformer.
