Smuggler’s Run on the GBA is basically a high-speed game of cat and mouse where you’re the mouse—and everyone’s out to wreck your day. You start off in this beat-up off-roader, hauling shady cargo through forests, deserts, and frozen wastelands while cops and rival smugglers try to run you off the road.
The handling’s a little loose at first—you’ll fishtail through dirt and skid on ice until you get the hang of it. But once you do, weaving between patrol cars and launching off cliffs feels surprisingly good for a handheld game. Just don’t expect to relax; the second you slow down, someone’s ramming you from behind.
It’s got that early 2000s edge where the story’s basically “be a criminal, don’t get caught,” and honestly? That’s all it needs. You’ll probably crash a lot before making your first successful drop, but nailing a tight escape is worth it.
