Snowboard Kids on N64 is one of those games that looks simple at first—cute little characters racing down snowy hills—but then suddenly you're dodging cacti in a desert or grinding rails in a theme park. The tracks start classic and get wilder as you go, which keeps you guessing (and occasionally laughing at the absurdity).
You earn cash mid-race by pulling off tricks or grabbing coins, and spending it on better boards feels surprisingly strategic—do you go for speed or better handling? The items add chaos, too; nothing like hitting a rival with a snowball right before the finish line. And yeah, the multiplayer is where it really shines—four players shouting at each other while someone accidentally launches off a ramp backward never gets old.
There are extra modes if you want a break from racing, like stunt challenges or target shooting, but the core downhill chaos is what I keep coming back to. It’s got that perfect mix of silly and competitive.
