Rotate those 2x2 fruit blocks to match colors—one good flip sends a chain reaction across the board, but those unbreakable Sekiero blocks and surprise bombs keep messing up your plans.

Soldam came out for the Game Boy in 1992 from Jaleco, a company that put out a lot of solid, if sometimes overlooked, puzzle games for Nintendo's handheld. It arrived in an era where the system was flooded with falling block games, but this one stood apart by doing something different with its core mechanic. You weren't just clearing lines; you were causing chain reactions.
You control the rotation of 2x2 blocks of fruit that drop from the top of the screen. The main goal is to create matches of four or more of the same color by flipping these blocks before the playfield fills up. Your primary tool is a cursor that lets you spin a block, and a good flip can set off a huge cascade that clears a huge portion of the board. The challenge comes from unbreakable Sekiero blocks that get in the way and bombs that drop in to disrupt your planned chains. The pacing is deliberate, asking you to think a move or two ahead rather than just react. It feels satisfying to set off a big combo and watch the screen clear itself.
