The Hobgoblin’s back, and he’s littered the streets with thugs who love to jump-kick at the worst possible moments. The controls take a second to click—hold down to web-swing, tap to punch—but once they do, you’re flipping between rooftops and yanking enemies into the air like it’s second nature.

What really sticks with me is the soundtrack—those crunchy synth beats that kick in during boss fights make Hobgoblin’s pumpkin bombs feel even meaner. And yeah, the collision detection can be janky (you’ll swear some punches should’ve landed), but there’s something weirdly charming about its rough edges. By the third stage, you’ll be webbing up goons just to see how far they’ll dangle before snapping back.

It’s not the deepest Spider-Man game out there, but for an Amiga title, it nails the feeling of being a slightly clumsy, overly enthusiastic wall-crawler. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the theme music hours later.
