Play Spot - The Video Game (Japan) Online
You control a bouncy red dot from soda ads, pushing blocks and dodging frogs on a grid—simple at first, then suddenly you're stuck staring at the screen figuring out how to not get knocked off. The peppy NES music and bright colors make losing track of time way too easy.

I first played Spot on the NES back in 1990, a game Virgin Games put out. It was a time when simple concepts often made for the most memorable afternoons, and Spot fit right in with that era of straightforward, colorful cartridges.
You control a cheerful red dot, navigating him through single-screen puzzle rooms. The goal is to push all the blocks into their designated spots while avoiding enemies like hopping frogs. The mechanics are pure logic and timing; you slide blocks one space at a time, and if you get cornered, you have to restart the room. The difficulty ramps up steadily, demanding careful planning with each new layout. It feels satisfying to finally clear a tricky stage after a few attempts.
