Spyro 2 - Season Of Flame (EU) on the GBA is a solid little platformer that captures the feel of the console games surprisingly well. You start off in a bright, colorful world, running around as Spyro, flame-breathing enemies and hunting for gems tucked away in corners. The controls take a minute to adjust—jumping feels a bit floaty compared to the PS1 games, but you get used to it.
What stands out is how much they packed into a tiny cartridge. The levels are small but dense, with hidden areas that reward exploration. I remember getting stuck on one puzzle where you had to light torches in the right order, and it took me way longer than it should have. The music’s simple but catchy, looping in a way that doesn’t grate after a while.
