Spyro 2: Season of Flame on the GBA picks up right where Season of Ice left off—except this time, some jerk Rhinocs stole all the fireflies, leaving dragons powerless (and, you know, breathless). So guess who gets to fix it? Yep, our favorite purple dragon.
It’s classic Spyro—you’ll glide, flame, and butt-stomp your way through weirdly charming isometric worlds. The controls take a second to adjust if you’re used to the PS1 games, but the fire/ice breath toggle adds a fun twist (some puzzles need ice, some need fire, and some just need you to stop falling off cliffs).
Hunter and Bianca are back, and you even get to play as Sheila the kangaroo and Agent 9, who’s basically a monkey with a laser and zero chill. The levels are bite-sized but packed with secrets, and the music’s got that nostalgic Spyro vibe. Just watch out for those Rhinocs—they hit harder than you’d expect for guys shaped like walking bricks.
It’s not the prettiest Spyro game, but it’s a solid little adventure for when you need to torch things on the go.
