Spyro 2: Season of Flame came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Universal Interactive. You control Spyro, navigating a series of isometric levels to recover stolen fireflies from the Rhynocs. The main objective involves exploring each area screen by screen, using your signature flame breath to defeat enemies and melt ice obstacles. A key mechanic is switching between fire and ice breath to solve puzzles and access new areas; you also get temporary help from allies like Sheila the kangaroo and Agent 9, who each have their own special abilities. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair, with a focus on collection and light exploration rather than punishing challenges. It feels satisfying to glide through the colorful worlds, even if the isometric perspective takes some getting used to.
