Play Starcross Amiga Online
1982 text adventure. Pilot a survey ship to scan asteroids for quantum black holes. Encounter an alien spacecraft. Amiga platform.

Starcross came out for the Amiga in 1982, a text adventure developed by Infocom and published by Commodore. It was part of that early wave of games that relied on your imagination, painting its world entirely through words on the screen. You didn't get flashy graphics, just a command prompt and a whole lot of mystery waiting in the void.
You control the pilot of a deep space survey vessel, tasked with scanning asteroids for signs of quantum black holes. The core of the game is exploration; you move room by room through your ship and later, a vast alien craft you encounter, typing commands to interact with consoles, tools, and strange artifacts. The puzzles are logical but demanding, often requiring careful mapping and precise inventory management. Progress feels deliberate, built on observation and deduction rather than quick reflexes. It feels like slowly unraveling a complex and deeply satisfying mystery.
